More often than not we are not able to connect to oracle8.1.5 database on Windows2000 server from VB6. we get the message "ora-2147467259 Oracle error occurred, but error message could not be retrieved from oracle" So how do v solve this problem ... pzl advice on this as soon as possible.

First of all: what provider are you using to connect to Oracle. I've heard from others that had problems with the MS provider for Oracle. After changing it to the Oracle provider for OLE DB, their problems had been gone.

Perhaps this is worth looking into. The Oracle provider can be found at otn.oracle.com.
