I have an Oracle 8.1.7 on Win NT 4.0.
Both data and indexes are store in one tablespace (USERS) after migration from oracle 7.
Can I raise performance of my system by storing indexes in separate tablespace (INDEXES)?
If so, what rate of improving can i take?

definatly storing indexes and table data seperatly will improve the performance.
since you can BALANCE THE the disk read and disk write.
and you can avaoid fragmentation (since indexes are highly framgmented.)
rate of improving, cannot determined, unless u bench mark the system.
