I have an environment where we are running a transaction-based application which sits on top of an Oracle 9iR2 database. It writes the data from an application server to a database server via OLE. The issue that I am having is this...
Being that the software is transaction based, we are sending many processes to the DB Server. When I look at V$SESSION, the session keep increasing, most of which are marked as inactive. It doesn't appear to be cleaning out the inactive transactions. The software uses 3 Oracle users, so most of the entries that show up in V$SESSION belong to one of these 3 users. I have SHARED SERVER MODE configured current;y, which I thought would address this issue. Our environment consists of a Windows 2000 Advanced Server Application Server and a DB Server running Oracle 9iR2 on top of AIX. Could anyone PLEASE help me?
