Hi everybody,
maybe someone can help me with this.
I have instance in ora 8.1.7.3 on windows 2000 server.
Since a few days I have everyday the ora error 00054. I then look up witch session is locking witch objects and then kill the sessions.
I have never had this error so often,. Is there a problem with my instance or with my operating system or with my machine???
How can I prevent this!!!
Thanks in advance for any help or hint.

Hi there
-- The error does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with your os, or database version, etc.
-- U need to thoroghly investigate the problem. Check alert logs and the udumps The udumps will usually point you to the probable cause of this problem. You may have problems with the actuall design of the app or may have a problem in a network, etc. Causes differ.
-- Killing sessions sould not be option of solving a problem.
Maybe you should provide excerpts from from your udump trace files.
