Hi,

you can also use "/ as sysdba" on windows 2000 prior to that you have to invoke your sql*plus on command line
e.g.

C:> sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
also on unix if you logges as oracle user you can do it

$ sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
