Hi,
Can anybody tell me how to calculate a proper value of PCTFREE & PCTUSED for a table. Is there any formula to calculate it i know it is highly depend on the amount of insertion/updation but thats a theoratical funda i want to impelement to so while creating a table in testing environment what value should i use for the table.

I've heard of some formulas being used, but never used them! Didnt believe that I could come up with perfect values based on approximations and guess estimates from the development team and usually thats the case ,especially when growth & characterstics are subject to change.
And in 9i, when you use automatic segment space management with locally managed tablespaces,you dont have to worry about PCTUSED.
Just the general guidelines from the documentation :
